Our client, a Macomb County manufacturing company, has an immediate opening for an experienced (5+ years) HR Manager, $95-110k, Direct Hire

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for driving the business priorities across 200+ person facilities. Manage and coordinate the company's human resources function such as recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. Work with site leadership team to provide a broad range of HR support actions for achieving business objectives and guidance to the business and employees to resolve matters providing advice on the direction.

HR Manager Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages administration and implementation of activities such as recruitment, employee training and development, salary structure, compensation, benefits, performance management and recognition plans, safety, health, security programs, etc.
  • As a member of the local site management team, supports the team in all people related matters and propose new actions to improve the concepts and processes.
  • Leads the recruitment process, placing internal and external ads, narrowing down candidates, and preparing documentation.
  • Contribute actively to the development and implementation of overall HR strategy. Act as change agent in identifying opportunities to improve workforce and HR process effectiveness to enable business strategy and results.
  • Build strong partnerships with all stakeholders to foster a result-driven culture of trust, growth, ownership and accountability while safeguarding positive employee relations.
  • Act as personal coach and confidant for leaders, to include providing sound advice and counsel in employee relations matters.
  • Act to solve problems with urgency. Resolves (complex) HR issues conferring with managers on intricate and highly sensitive issues.
  • Ensure flawless execution of staffing processes at all levels within the business accompanied with sound onboarding programs.
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization at all levels (e.g., evaluation of cost, clarifying roles and responsibilities, organization design, etc.).
  • Reviews, analyzes and provides periodic reports and KPI's and 401K audits
  • Manage and maintain compliance calendars for both locations, ensuring timely EEOC, OSHA, and 401(k) filings, along with other requirements.
  • Talent and organizational development - assist in conducting organization assessments and upgrade talent through strategic staffing and talent pipeline development.
  • Administer all other HR policies and programs. Recommend and implement revisions to policies, programs and practices as needed. Ensure compliance with all state and federal statutes, laws and regulations including but not limited to all applicable wage and hour laws, and regulations related to AAP, FMLA, ITAR, OSHA, EEO and ADA.
  • Support compensation and employee benefits making recommendations to ensure competitive full compensation package is offered.
  • Oversee payroll and HRM system for accurate and efficient processing of all new hires, terminations and changes in both company locations
  • Handle and support EHT as a representative of Human Resources Manager in all matters.
  • Maintain and post information on company website and work with marketing ideas
  • Participate in party events for both companies
  • Coach and train managers in different aspects of supervision, communication and human resources policies
  • Handle of aspect of open enrolment for both companies, revision of all benefits with 3rd party provider
  • Monitor and track attendance timekeeping and disciplinary actions
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

HR Manager Required Skills/Abilities:

  • PHR certification is recommended
  • Strong recruiting skills, benefits administration, overseeing payroll processing, reconciling 401K, FMLA.
  • Strong effective similar experience (5+ years) in a manufacturing environment
  • Capable of balancing multiple stakeholders
  • Sensitive to cultural differences through experience in an international orientated organization
  • Creative, clever and thought through approach with a pragmatic and solution driven "can do"-mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team oriented and possess leader and mentor qualities including dealing with performance issues and terminations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge of ADP and Payroll processing a plus.
  • Knowledge of Success Factor a plus
  • Knowledge of Attendance Advisor a plus
  • Knowledge of Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel -pivot tables, look up etc.
  • Experience in manufacturing is a plus
